Scents of the Season: September

Scents of the Season: September

The season of crunchy leaves, crisp air, and pumpkin everything is here, and this may be your favorite season and you might be thinking to yourself, “How can I encapsulate this feeling” Well, we’ve got a perfect way…a candle! One of the most intricate senses is the smell and certain scents can encapsulate a feeling, a memory, and even a season extremely well. If you’re an autumn fanatic and want to create a candle that feels like warm apple cider, late-night bonfires, and a cold breeze, we’ve got the perfect scents that’ll fall-ify your candle!

Pumpkin

We all know that fall is home to the “pumpkin spice and everything nice” mantra, and you don’t just have to limit yourself to drinking and eating delicious pumpkin-flavored things, you can make a pumpkin spice candle that will transport you to a pumpkin patch in the dead of summer! A nice vanilla pumpkin scent or a simple pumpkin spice latte candle will cozy up whichever room you decide to light it in.

Spices

Spices like cinnamon and clove are prominent in many different autumn candles, with good reason. Adding these scent profiles to your candle will feel like a warm hug on a chilly, rainy night inside or the feeling of being curled up on the couch reading a book by the fireplace. Adding these spices to any scent will add that warmth that autumn is known for scent-wise.

Apple

If you can’t wait for the apple-picking season to be in full swing, adding an apple fragrance oil to your candle is the perfect way to bring this feeling to your home. This scent will give you the feeling of embarking on your first apple-picking adventure of the season.

Woods

Woody scents are common among fall candles. When you’re making your own candle, putting a woodsy-scented oil into your unique concoction will put that bonfire crackling, s’more-making night right into the palm of your hands. Adding vanilla is a great way to add a sweeter touch to your woodsy candle creation. Using other autumn-forward scents such as the spices mentioned earlier will mix the scent of the “masculine” and “outdoorsy” woods scent with the

smells of the season that we all know and love.

Fall is a favorite of many, and candles are a great way if you just can’t hold off any longer, even when it’s the middle of winter or the start of the summer.
